Jesse Fhami

Associate Attorney

Jesse Fhami is an Associate Attorney at The Legacy Lawyers, P.C., where he represents clients in contested trust and estate litigation throughout California. His practice encompasses complex probate disputes, fiduciary litigation, property recovery actions, conservatorships, and matters involving sophisticated financial and valuation issues.

Jesse brings an unusually analytical and technical perspective to litigation. With a background in rhetoric, intellectual property, patent law, and software development, he approaches complicated disputes by identifying the central issues, organizing complex evidence, and presenting arguments with clarity and precision. His goal is to make even the most complicated case understandable—to the client, the opposing party, and ultimately the court.

Education & Credentials

  • University of California College of the Law, San Francisco – J.D.
  • California State University, Fullerton – M.A., English and Rhetoric, summa cum laude
  • Registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office
  • Admitted to practice in California – State Bar No. 367881

Experience

Jesse’s trust and estate litigation practice covers a broad range of contested matters, including:

  • Competing petitions for letters of administration
  • Probate Code Section 850 property recovery claims
  • Breach of trust and fiduciary duty actions
  • Trust and estate accounting disputes
  • Community property apportionment and valuation matters
  • Conservatorships involving interstate jurisdictional issues
  • Contested probate and trust proceedings

When estate or trust assets have been improperly transferred, withheld, or managed, Jesse focuses on developing a clear factual record and pursuing the legal remedies available to recover and protect those assets.

Before becoming an attorney, Jesse spent years teaching writing at both the secondary and post-secondary levels after earning his master’s degree in English and Rhetoric from California State University, Fullerton. That background continues to influence his work as a litigator. He places particular emphasis on persuasive legal writing, recognizing that complex arguments are often won by presenting the facts and law in a way that is organized, direct, and easy for the court to follow.

While attending UC Law San Francisco, Jesse developed additional experience in intellectual property and patent law. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, reflecting a technical background that also informs his ability to work through complicated financial records, valuations, accountings, and other evidence that frequently arises in trust and estate disputes.

Jesse also applies his technical skills internally at The Legacy Lawyers. He designs, develops, and maintains systems used by the firm’s attorneys to track deadlines, prioritize matters, and manage complex litigation workflows. By building many of these tools himself, Jesse combines legal analysis with technology to help the firm manage cases efficiently and maintain close attention to critical deadlines and details.

Personal Life

Outside of his legal practice, Jesse plays guitar in a band and enjoys working on cars. His background as a writer, teacher, attorney, and builder reflects a common philosophy that carries into his legal practice: the strongest argument is often the one that can be explained clearly and understood without unnecessary complexity.
