Sofiia Melnyk is an Associate Attorney at The Legacy Lawyers, PC, where she represents clients in probate, trust, conservatorship, and guardianship matters. With legal training in both the United States and Ukraine, Sofiia brings an international perspective to her practice along with a strong commitment to professionalism, clear communication, and thoughtful client service.
Sofiia is particularly drawn to trusts and estates because these matters often arise during some of the most difficult and emotionally sensitive moments in a client’s life. She values the opportunity to provide steady guidance, explain complex legal issues in understandable terms, and help clients move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

Experience
Sofiia began her legal education at National University Odessa Law Academy, where she earned both her Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws in International Law with Honors. She later continued her legal studies at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, earning an LL.M. and expanding her knowledge of the U.S. legal system.
During her time at Berkeley, Sofiia developed a particular interest in business law and completed additional coursework to earn a Business Law Certificate. She also devoted significant time to pro bono service in the community, earning Pro Bono Honors in recognition of her commitment to providing legal assistance to those in need.
Sofiia first joined The Legacy Lawyers as a law clerk, gaining practical experience with the firm’s trusts and estates practice. After passing the California Bar Examination and being sworn in, she joined the firm as an associate attorney.
Today, Sofiia represents clients in probate, trust, conservatorship, and guardianship matters, helping individuals and families navigate complicated legal issues with care and attention. Her approach emphasizes clear communication, practical guidance, and compassionate representation throughout each stage of the legal process.
Personal Life
Outside of her legal practice, Sofiia enjoys photography, traveling, watching movies, and following sports.
