Posted on Apr 29, 2015According to court papers filed by longtime friend Leslie Morris, Morris is seeking to be appointed Mitchell’s conservator. Mitchell, 71, was found in her home, unresponsive, and then taken to the hospital on March 31.
Morris, who has been Mitchell’s friend for more than 44 years, sought the conservator position because Mitchell does not have any relatives to serve as conservator. This position would not give Morris control over Mitchell’s finances, according to the documents.
“Contrary to rumors circulating on the Internet today, Joni is not in a coma. Joni is still in the hospital – but she comprehends, she’s alert, and she has her full senses. A full recovery is expected,” Morris said in a statement on JoniMitchell.com.
