Job Summary

Associate attorneys are team members licensed to practice law in California. Attorneys are expected to interact with clients, diagnose probate needs, and work independently to achieve their client’s’ goals. Day-to-day tasks would include legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, requests for and responses to discovery, and making court appearances. This position requires familiarity with state, county and local court rules and filing procedures, top notch legal writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, judges and court personnel. Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Meet with prospective clients, fact-find and assess their individual needs as it pertains to probate or trust administration
  • Manage multiple cases on MyCase software and bill time in .10 hour increments
  • Stay up to date with court dates, hearings, and maintain a calendar with other attorneys in the office
  • Conduct legal research
  • Draft motions and pleadings, and conduct various forms of discovery
  • Work with support staff to ensure that the client receives an excellent experience where they are adequately informed and taken care of
  • Take direction from senior associates
  • Abide by the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct and the California Rules of Professional Conduct
Job Requirements Associate attorneys must have the ability to bond with people from all walks of life–especially those between the ages of 53 and 63. They must be consummate professionals with integrity, and possesses a strong work ethic. They must be excellent communicators. They must be highly organized and disciplined, and able to manage their own caseload. They must have the ability to adapt to new technologies and work within a system that uses Google Suite and cloud based applications such as Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc. They will do what they do so well that people can’t help telling others about our firm. They must perform as directed using this description, operational instructions, and training unless they find it no longer meets or exceeds client expectations.
